Sen. Martha McSally, R-Arizona, gave emotional remarks on her personal experience with sexual assault in front of a Senate panel on military sexual assault. McSally, who served in the Air Force from 1988-2010, shared this experience for the first time publicly, calling for change from outside and within the military ranks. McSally was the first woman to fly a fighter jet in combat and the first to command a fighter squadron in combat. She retired from the Air Force as a full colonel.
