While Michael Cohen and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform ate up most of Wednesday’s news cycle, a panel met before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation to discuss data privacy, how U.S. consumers are affected by data breaches and the framework for fixing those threats. The hearing comes as high profile breaches continue to compromise consumer information and companies such as Equifax, Uber, Facebook and Cambridge Analytica continue to sell user data.
