Democratic leadership and union leaders highlighted furloughed federal workers at a Wednesday press conference to discuss the partial government shutdown. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer also gave their impression of President Trump’s Oval Office address from Tuesday night. “Last night the president spat more malice and misinformation appealing to fear instead of facts,” Pelosi said.
