Democratic Sens. Chris Coons and Cory Booker and GOP Sen. Jeff Flake attempted on Wednesday to have a floor vote on a bill protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The unanimous consent request on the bill — which would allow Mueller to finish his probe into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election — was rejected by Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, so no vote was held. The Senate Judiciary panel advanced the bill out of committee six months ago.
