The Senate Judiciary Committee voted on Friday along party lines to report to the Senate floor the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to be Supreme Court associate justice. But in a last-minute deal, Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake asked for a one-week delay of that full Senate confirmation vote to allow the FBI to investigate the sexual assault allegations made against Kavanaugh by Christine Blasey Ford, who testified to the panel Thursday. There was no binding motion voted on by the committee to secure the deal, however, leading to some confusion at the end of the meeting. Watch and listen to the full vote.
