Sens. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., on Tuesday attempted to question Steve Penny, former president and CEO of USA Gymnastics, on his knowledge of the sexual abuse that occurred on the U.S. women’s national team — which led to the conviction of former team doctor, Larry Nassar, early this year. Penny took the fifth and was eventually excused. As he left the room, a protester disrupted the hearing.
