Senators Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Tim Kaine, D-Va., are pushing a revision of the 17-year-old Authorization for Use of Military Force that puts stricter limits on how presidents can act militarily without authorization by Congress. But White House correspondent John T. Bennett doesn’t see much interest from President Donald Trump or Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to pass a new AUMF.
