Six Lawmakers Have Resigned Due to Sexual Misbehavior in 10 Years

Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., is resigning from Congress — effective Oct. 21 — after allegations that he had an affair and purportedly pressured his mistress to get an abortion. Other recent examples of sexual misconduct that resulted in resignations ranged from extramarital affairs to allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
