Lawmakers grilled President Donald Trump’s pick for FBI director Christopher Wray on Wednesday, pressing him on his independence from political pressure, the growing scandal regarding Russia’s involvement with the 2016 election and Trump’s one-on-one meeting with former bureau chief James B. Comey.
