Has raised $467,000 for 2018 campaign

Republican Rep. John Katko said he will not be a Republican candidate for  attorney general in New York in 2018.

Katko, who worked as a prosecutor, rebuffed reports from a New York Daily News Article that he was considering a run, CNYCentral.com reported.

Katko overwhelmingly beat Democrat Colleen Deacon in 2016.

“He is honored to be considered but is focused on representing Central New York in Congress and will seek reelection in NY-24 in 2018,” a statement from his office read.

Katko has already raised $467,000 for his 2018 race.
