Sasse Continues Senate Tradition, Delivers Washington’s Farewell Address

One of the Senate’s longest and most bipartisan traditions is the annual reading of George Washington’s farewell address on the Senate floor. Occurring shortly after the President’s Day recess, the reading typically falls close to Washington’s birthday and dates back to the Civil War.
