For the first time ever, a U.S. vice president cast the tiebreaking vote on a presidential Cabinet nominee. Vice President Mike Pence presided over the Senate on Tuesday to break the 50-50 tie on the confirmation of Betsy DeVos as secretary of Education. See the unprecedented vote here.
