Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., was escorted out of a town hall meeting on Saturday with the aid of police after numerous protesters criticized him.

Hundreds of protesters outside the Saturday event chanted, “Vote him out,” the Sacramento Bee reported.

Inside the event, McClintock defended his party’s agenda, including President Donald Trump’s executive order that severely restricted travel from seven majority-Muslim nations.

“I believe that order is constitutional,” he said, which, according to the Sacramento Bee, elicited strong boos.

One woman named Amanda Barnes, who said she was paralyzed from the waist down after a hit-and-run accident, asked what the Republican Party’s replacement is for the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare.

McClinton responded that there is not yet a full replacement plan but it was still taking shape.

“The answer is a comprehensive bill that rescinds Obamacare in its entirety, and replaces it with reforms that put the patient back in charge of their own decisions, and give them the widest possible range of choices,” he said.

After the event ended, McClintock was escorted by police to exit as protesters yelled, “this is what democracy looks like.”
