Democratic Senate candidate Katie McGinty is getting some help from first lady Michelle Obama in her race against Sen. Pat Toomey.

Obama cut two ads for McGinty, paid by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, as both parties pour money into a race that could determine control of the Senate in the next Congress.

In one ad, Obama says McGinty will “fight for good jobs and good schools we deserve.”

In the other ad, Obama admits “with all the negativity, it’s easy to lose track of what’s important” before saying McGinty and other Democrats will support good jobs, equal pay and affordable health care.

McGinty has already had help from other prominent Democrats, with progressive favorites Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren campaigning for her.

Vice President Joe Biden, a native of Scranton, was featured in an ad for her last month, saying ads attacking her are “a bunch of malarkey.”
