A nonprofit group promoting Sept. 11 as a day of remembrance is asking presidential and congressional candidates to hold off on campaigning on the attack’s 15th anniversary.

David Paine, the president and co-founder of the New York-based organization 9/11 Day, said the one-day moratorium on campaigning would help revive national unity and empathy, according to The Associated Press.

The group has sent the request to the campaigns of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Representatives for both candidates did not immediately say if they would agree to the suspension.

The organization, founded in 2002, seeks to make Sept. 11 a “federally recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance,” the press release stated.

9/11 Day made a similar request in 2012 which both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama agreed to.
