Conflicting Reports Over Secret Service Meeting With Trump Campaign

While one media outlet reported that the U.S. Secret Service spoke with Donald Trump’s campaign about comments the GOP’s presidential nominee made that could be interpreted as suggesting violence against Hillary Clinton, another said that no such meeting took place.

CNN reported Wednesday that the Secret Service spoke with Trump after he said “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Trump disputed that, calling it a “made up story.”

Reuters later reported, citing a federal official, that the agency had “not formally discussed” the issue with the campaign.
