Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., praised a request on Monday by TransCanada Corp. to suspend a State Department review of the Keystone XL pipeline, saying it leaves the door open for the next president to approve the project.“I agree with what the pipeline company has done by putting the pause button now, that allows things to stay active in my opinion until after a 2016 election when we may have a Republican president in office who can then approve it,” Barrasso said. “I think the fear right now is that the president was getting ready to oppose it and put a final closedown on it, and this just keeps it alive.”
