Resolution to Dissolve Benghazi Committee Rejected in House

One week after Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy touted the Benghazi Select Committee’s effect on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s poll numbers, Rep. Louise M. Slaughter, D-N.Y, took to the House floor Wednesday to propose a resolution to dismantle the committee. The chairman ruled that the resolution did not constitute a question of the privileges of the House. Slaughter appealed the ruling and House voted to table the appeal, 280-183.
