A bipartisan criminal justice overhaul bill introduced last month gained the support Thursday of Speaker John A. Boehner, who wants to see the measure led by Reps. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., and Robert C. Scott, D-Va., move forward in the House of Representatives. “I don’t think I want to get into all the details, I frankly am not the expert on this, but we’ve got a lot of people in prison frankly, that really in my view, don’t need to be there,” Boehner said. “… Some of these people are in there under what I’ll call flimsy reasons, and so I think it’s time that we review this process, they have, and I’m looking forward to putting these recommendations on the floor.” Read more.
