Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., again struck a delicate balancing act between his official and campaign duties Tuesday, holding a news conference ahead of scheduled Democratic and Republican press conferences.Although Senate ethics rules prohibit campaigning in the Capitol, the 2016 presidential candidate spent much of his five-plus minutes in front of reporters highlighting the differences between himself and fellow Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton, who visited with lawmakers on Capitol Hill Tuesday. “I’m not campaigning here,” Sanders said, when asked about the chamber’s ethics rules. “You’re asking me questions about it.” In April, Sanders came under fire for holding a news conference at the Senate Swamp one day after announcing he would run for president.
